I haven't really delveded into the lore much yet, but the dark cyberpunk meets space opera vibe is really really cool. It's been hard to find fights and It doesn't help that I'm one of only two Aussies in a corp of US tz people. But things are improving and I feel the excitement coming back after every encounter we do get. We had a great one today with an awesome job from our logi pilots. Saved Dani who kept being primaried and gave us 100% efficiency, other than a Basilisk who escaped. But still couldn't imagine living any other way than w-space, regardless how tough times might get there occasionally. I can understand that on some level. I've only really lived in Amarr/Minmatar FW space so far. I'm about to move, and I'm kind of going to miss it. Good memories there. Not quite the same, but it was MY neighborhood, and LS has been good to me. WHs are fascinating though. The atmosphere in them really takes me back to when I was a kid watching space documentaries and wondering what was out there. The lack of local, though kind of scary, really enhances this. The mystery of it all. From time to time I go WH diving when I want some peace and quiet and I try to stalk people. Not having a Cov Ops yet has made it a little difficult though hehe. I really need to practice combat probing too, that **** is HARD. Still, I may end up moving there if I get as hooked to it as I did with LS pew pew. I do enjoy Mind Divided but the reasoning being that I got to know Error when he was posting in LAGL and in conversations we've had outside of game. Error also gave me permission to use his work as bed music on our podcast so I continue to support his stuff. It's by no means an exclusive working relationship, but he's been a big supporter of the 'cast. That is really cool. Didn't occur to me they might be an EVE player . Played EVE for a few months in 09, I did missions for the first 3 months or so, training any and every ship I liked the look of. Got my shiny new Harbinger exploded in lowsec. Fell in love with lowsec pew pew. Played for another month or 2 exploding Rifters in LS or trying to can flip people in HS. RL intervened with my fun time and I decided I need to focus, so I stopped. Fast forward to July this year, I'm back and went to pew pew in LS day one. Died horribly and repeatedly, all while trying to convince people in the NPC corp to follow me. Made some friends, and I started a corp (BUMP POW for life o7), since I couldn't find one I liked the look of. I muddled my way through learning to pew pew, and run a corp, with the help of quite a few people in game and on the forums. Decided to close corp so I can learn more, and try new things. I WILL be re-making BUMP POW though once I think I can run it the way I want to and have some good people behind me. There goes the mystery. We friends now?
